I read this book because I wanted to get a glimpse and some set patterns to start practicing some sales for my product and the main thing that was on my list was when to speak, when to stop, when to show presentation, how long the whole meeting should be and what should my body language be like.

This book is a great point to start from and I highly recommend this. Aug 28, James Williams added it. Excellent process book for talking to prospects in MLM and direct sales, teaching the idea that if we ask the right questions, the prospect will tell us how to sell to them.

Well written and full of ideas for how to sell by asking for the sale rather than by using deception or coercion, like so many salespeople are known to do.

It had been years since my last reading, and I picked it up off of my book shelf to see if it was as good as I had remembered. I had remembered this book as a practical sales guide, specifically toward closing techniques. Sales training is a current problem at my day job, so I thought this little book might remind me of some good tips or best practices.

I was wrong. I was disappointed to see th I acquired this book years ago when I was going through a phase of joining Network Marketing companies. I was disappointed to see that this book was written more specifically for network marketers than I had remembered, and that much of the advice was really advice on conversation manipulation.

It is this kind of manipulation that I think has given network marketers, and in some industries sales as a whole, a bad name. If I altruistically think of sales as a way to help people solve real problems with a useful product or service, manipulating them into a download does not seem right.

Nor does it build a positive ongoing relationship with that person who sold me "dreams" instead of real solutions.

If you want a targeted treatment of tacky sales manipulation, without any greater context of how to really help someone with real problems by offering useful products or services, then this book is for you. However considering the fact that it is a short pages read, I continued reading though hoping there sure will be something to learn.

I am so glad I did that, I did learn few important and interesting things. However, it turned out to be beginner level book for people who want to expand clients through network marketing. Book describes techniques and body gestures one should use to expand your network. It would been more interesting had author mentioned benefits of Network marketing to new joiners. It restricts the scope just for a person who is trying to expand his network.

You may just end up reconfirming the poor beliefs you already had about yourself. That really is not what you want! Questions like these open up your mind to new pathways or even possibilities.

Hence, the answers and the results you ultimately get will be VERY different. The quality of the questions you ask yourself is a key factor in determining your levels of success.
